Job Description Summary:

The Virtual Patient Observation Tech (VPOT) provides continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients. The VPOT's first line of action is to verbally redirect the patient from engaging in at risk behaviors. The VPOT works in collaboration with the bedside staff and reports if the patient requires assistance and/or patient safety issues.

Responsibilities And Duties:

    Maintains visual observation of patients at all times.
    Verbally redirects patient over digital  2-way audio device that is in patient room.
    Immediately summons the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance.
    Participates in a collaborative identification and reporting of patient safety issues.
    Demonstrates safe work practices and attitudes, follows safety rules, and works to prevent unsafe conditions and behaviors.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School or GED (Required)

Additional Job Description:

BLS to be completed in orientation Customer Service Skills Effective communication skills Ability to focus on a particular subject or task for an extended period of time Ability to analyze, synthesize patient care information to formulate patient specific care recommendations Minimum of one years Experience in healthcare or service related industry is preferred.
