Job Description – Intern - Cost Management (Civil / MEP)

Role Purpose

The successful candidates will be entry-level professionals who will work under close supervision of experienced Cost Managers and Team Leaders to develop foundational skills in cost management and real estate development projects. This Internship program offers freshers from Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical engineering backgrounds an excellent opportunity to launch their careers in the cost management field while gaining exposure to diverse sectors and project types.

Interns will be mentored to build technical capabilities, develop commercial awareness, and understand the fundamentals of cost and value management in real estate projects.

What this role involves

Learning and Development

Work under direct supervision of Team Leaders and Cost Managers to learn cost management fundamentals

Participate in structured training programs to understand JLL best practice tools and processes

Gain hands-on experience with cost management software and technology platforms

Project Support

Assist in the preparation of basic cost plans, BOQs and budget under supervision

Support senior team members in data collection and analysis for cost management assignments

Help maintain project documentation and cost databases

Participate in quantity take-offs and measurement activities

Professional Development

Learn to interpret project briefs and technical drawings

Develop understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods

Participate in knowledge sharing sessions and team meetings

General Responsibilities

Complete all assigned tasks accurately and within specified timeframes

Demonstrate eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges

Maintain professional standards in all interactions

Show commitment to JLL values and service excellence

Required skills and experience for this

Education

Fresh graduates with B.E. / B.Tech. / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering

Strong academic performance with good analytical and mathematical skills

Technical Skills

Basic understanding of engineering drawings and estimating principles

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Prior knowledge of software like AutoCAD, CostX etc. would be preferred

Personal Attributes

Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Proactive learning attitude and adaptability.
