As a Principal Enterprise Architect, you will provide strategic architectural leadership across Business Banking, guiding the evolution of our enterprise capabilities and platforms. You will define and drive the enterprise architecture roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals, technology strategy, and regulatory requirements. 

 

You will be a senior leader within the Business Banking Technology team, collaborating closely with Solution Architecture, Engineering, and Business stakeholders.

This role reports to the Domain Architect, Business Banking and Payments Technology, within the Business Banking Enterprise Architecture team. This team is responsible for setting the architectural vision for Business Banking and Payments, to drive sound architecture governance across the domain and ensure technology investments deliver sustainable value and align with enterprise-wide guardrails.  

 

You will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the enterprise architecture across multiple areas, including Business Banking, Merchant and Payment Systems and our premium CommSec trading platform. 

 

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Define and maintain Enterprise Architecture blueprints, guardrails and architectural roadmaps 

  • Lead the development of target state architectures and capability models 

  • Lead the adoption and contribute to the development of the architecture processes, controls, policies, standards, and frameworks 

  • Engage with senior stakeholders to align architecture with business strategy and priorities. 

  • Mentor and support Solution Architects, Engineers and other architecture professionals. 

  • Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of emerging technologies through regular attendance at industry events and investigate, prioritise, and recommend improvements to target state architectures and with market leading technologies and industry trends. 

  • Represent Business Banking in enterprise-wide architecture forums and working groups. 

 

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Experience in enterprise architecture across complex and regulated environments 

  • Have a strong understanding of the business banking domain 

  • Proven experience in driving strategic architecture outcomes 

  • Experience in architecture governance, stakeholder engagement and influencing at senior levels. 

  • Familiarity with industry-standard architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) 

 

Desirable: 

  • Knowledge of BIAN industry standard 

  • Experience with BizzDesign or equivalent EA modelling tooling 

  • Experience delivering Data and AI / ML solutions
