Fulfills second-in-command leadership role in a specific area, residing in the main area office. Responsibilities include meeting or exceeding revenue goals, leading a team of people leaders and individual contributors driving fundraising results, day-to-day management, and development of assigned staff, while growing an assigned book of business consisting of a blended portfolio of individual donors, corporations, and high value volunteers. They are responsible for inspiring and coaching staff to drive annual goals, including, year-over-year revenue growth, volunteer recruitment and increased awareness of St. Jude Children’s Hospital within designated area.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Drives growth in fundraising, and fiscal KPI’s, while meeting budget in assigned area.
2. Works with area staff to identify fundraising opportunities and execute strategies resulting in revenue growth. This includes goals for various streams of revenue, volunteer recruitment, as well as other key performance indicators. Also responsible for helping staff achieve excellence in event and campaign execution: overcome obstacles, stay on timeline and drive to desired outcome.
3. Responsible for growing an important book of business consisting of a blended portfolio of individual donors, corporations, and high value volunteers. Has expertise in developing donor strategies and closing 6- figure gifts.
4. Has expertise to recruit, train and work with executive level volunteers and committees. Develops and manages multiple active event volunteer committees. Involves interaction with national board members and top executives serving in official or volunteer leadership capacities for ALSAC/St. Jude.
5. Identifies and develops strategies, maximizing corporate and individual fundraising initiatives while coordinating new fundraising strategies throughout the area. Key focus areas are securing five and six-figure giving, prospecting, cultivating and securing large individual and corporate support, engaging volunteer leaders and support and supporting multicultural-based initiatives.
6. Responsible for working leads through donor moves management. Conduct prospect research on potential donors and develop donor proposals. Maintain and updates contact information on shared target lists.
7. Responsible for the day-to-day management and development of staff assigned. Includes evaluating staffing structure and books of business, as needed. Also includes interviewing, hiring, monitoring staff progress, coaching, counseling, and writing performance appraisals.
8. Research and be knowledgeable of current market trends and current happenings within assigned territory in order to develop new business.
9. Reviews and evaluates monthly progress to determine areas that require attention and action.
