Position Summary...

Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.

Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines for IDC in alignment with the Global Controllership strategy, GAAP requirements and Statutory Compliances.

Develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies, policies and procedures in alignment with accounting policies, practices, adhering to statutory obligations while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation.


About the team:
The Walmart Controllership team oversees putting in place new accounting standards, creating and communicating accounting policies, conducting technical accounting research, and giving advice on operational accounting procedures. We are responsible for the global accounting close, consolidation, monitoring, preparing financial statements, reporting to the SEC, and benchmarking. Additionally, we support the global internal control program, global control design, SOX program leadership, monitoring, and reporting, IT control oversight, and FCPA financial control program leadership and oversight.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies, policies and procedures in alignment with accounting policies, practices, adhering to statutory obligations while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation.
  • Provide comprehensive updates to management pertaining to P&L, Cashflow and Balance sheet.
  • Managing end to end AP and Payroll process for IDC including payroll related compliances. Proactively working towards improvements of AP/Payroll processes in collaboration with other functions.
  • Planning, implementing, and maintaining financial information systems along with associated internal controls.
  • Responsible for end-to-end fixed assets capitalization, monitoring, and maintaining appropriate internal controls.
