As a Principal Product Owner in the SMAI IET organization, you will lead strategic, multidisciplinary initiatives that shape the future of smart manufacturing at Micron. You will partner with global teams across engineering, operations, IT, and data science to define, deliver, and scale AI‑driven solutions that improve efficiency, quality, and operational excellence across our worldwide manufacturing network.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and own the product vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with Micron’s manufacturing strategy and business objectives.

  • Lead cross‑functional global teams (engineering, data science, IT, operations) to deliver integrated AI/ML‑enabled smart manufacturing products.

  • Elicit, analyze, and prioritize requirements from end users, SMEs, and collaborators; develop arguments and propose high‑ROI initiatives.

  • Translate business problems into clear technical requirements for data science, software engineering, and IT teams—and articulate technical concepts back to business collaborators.

  • Drive agile execution, including backlog management, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure predictable delivery and continuous improvement.

  • Oversee deployment and lifecycle management of data science and automation solutions, ensuring enterprise‑grade reliability, data integrity, and global scalability.

  • Define and track product success metrics (benchmarks, return on investment, adoption, efficiency impact).

  • Communicate effectively across all levels, presenting to both technical audiences and senior leadership.

  • Identify new opportunities for innovation by monitoring industry trends, emerging technologies, and internal user needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in smart manufacturing, process engineering, or similar areas, including leading successful Industry 4.0 and digital transformation initiatives.

  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience in data science or analytics, with strong knowledge of ETL, SQL, data warehousing, and modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake).

  • Proven ability to lead cross‑functional, global project teams with strong stakeholder management skills.

  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self‑motivated with strong ownership, attention to detail, and commitment to data accuracy and solution quality.

  • Ability to operate independently while managing multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Highly adaptable, with a proven ability to navigate changing priorities.

  • Passionate about innovation, automation, and continuous improvement in manufacturing.

  • Experience working in large‑scale semiconductor, automotive, or other high‑complexity manufacturing environments.
