A Day in the Life

The Sales Representative Acute Care & Monitoring jobholder is primarily responsible for selling the full range of products in assigned territory in a professional manner to hospitals and related healthcare professionals. He/she will build strong ethical business relationships with customers to ensure usage of our products and expanding the market and penetration, leading through value selling. He / she will cooperate and coordinate activities with the Clinical Application Specialists in the territory to maximize Acute Care Monitoring business opportunities.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Lead with clinical selling activities within the territory. Coordinate with other Medtronic teams where needed. Develop target list and selling strategy / account mapping
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity. Identifies / quantifies opportunities and enter them in Salesforce.com
  • Prepare presentations, proposals, and sales contracts, identify and resolve customers concerns, and coordinates offers and tenders as well as Handles complaints and back orders
  • Occasionally interacting with purchasing managers / hospital administrators to set up and negotiate broader sales contracts
  • Maintain customer knowledge by gathering information about account activities and potential, key decision makers, competitive participation, market share etc.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Degree in Life-science, Marketing, Business Administration or Biology, Paramedic or another relevant, advanced degree
  • Experience in sales in the medical device industry of 3-6 years
  • Good selling techniques and excellent selling strategies.  As well as thorough knowledge of the decision-making process with customers (economic buyer, reimbursement)
  • Proven track record to work independently, highly motivated with a “can do” attitude
  • Fluency in English.
