Snap Lab is home to our hardware products with a world-class research & development team. We are focused on pushing the boundaries of what a camera can be, specifically overlaying computing on the real world. Next Generation Spectacles are our first pair of glasses that bring augmented reality to life.
We’re looking for a Software Engineer, Product Engineering to join the Snap Lab team!
What you’ll do:
Design, implement, and operate features across Spectacles device, mobile app and cloud to enrich Spectacles product experiences and fulfill our vision of spatial computing
Work with Product, Design and partners across teams to understand product requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver the solutions needed to build innovative products
You evaluate, appropriately test, and debug your work, striving for high quality
Advocate for and apply best practices when it comes to availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost management
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Experience with client development, backend services or distributed systems
You understand the operational aspects of your system and may participate in incident or hotfix investigation and resolution
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent years of experience
7+ years of software development experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, JavaScript, C++, and/or Python
Experience with NoSQL solutions, Memcache/Redis, Kubernetes, or Google/AWS services
Experience with mobile, desktop, or web client development
Experience applying ML ranking to increase product engagement
Experience leading a small team and directing work for others

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
The base salary range for this position is $202,000-$303,000 annually.
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
