Job Title: HR Advisor

Location: Edinburgh

Job Type: 4x permanent roles and 1x 8 month FTC available

The Role

The HR Services Advisor is a member of the HR Services Team and is the first point of contact for questions from colleagues and people managers. This role provides professional advice and guidance covering the full range of HR and people related policies and processes, and works collaboratively with key stakeholders in HR operations, centres of expertise and HR business partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing a high quality service across the full spectrum of HR administration, including, but not limited to employee data maintenance, leavers, benefits, absence, learning and development, pensions, international assignments, performance management, organisation and position management, redundancies and reward (data entry).
  • Provide support to employees who are on leave from the business e.g. maternity, paternity, shared parental, adoption, long term sickness
  • Following published procedures and work instructions where supplied, applying knowledge and judgement when responding to queries to achieve the appropriate resolution and colleague expectation, and where applicable, raising issues to the Team Lead or other appropriate HR team member.
  • Providing informal coaching and training in HR administrative tasks where applicable.
  • Administering employee lifecycle events making effective and accurate use of the Workday system to input and revise data, produce contractual and other documentation within defined quality standards and service level agreements.
  • Provide administrative support for organisational restructuring initiatives including the production of redundancy and settlement agreements

What we're looking for:

  • Understanding of employment law would be desirable
  • Knowledge of workday or relevant HR systems
  • Demonstrable experience of dealing with sensitive and demanding cases
  • First point of contact for HR related queries around new starters, absence, global mobility cases and wider HR related policies
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively and effectively within the wider team
  • Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to provide accurate and timely guidance and advice, explaining established policies and procedures as required.
  • Knows how to effectively organise allocated work activities, work to tight deadlines and assist in the effective organisation or non-standard tasks and events.
  • Can work independently to solve a range of problems within standard operating procedures
  • Good judgement, knowing when to seek guidance, escalation or authorisation
  • Ability to analyse data and present summary information in a clear and concise format
