In this role, you will support the creation, execution, implementation, and management of comprehensive global sourcing strategies primarily across our Packaging spend, supporting the business in enabling sales growth, security of supply, quality, sustainability, and cost improvements at a global scale.

In this role you will…

  • Manage a spend of c.£35m by creating comprehensive global sourcing strategies, operating with a truly global and strategic mindset supporting Category Spend of c.£100m.

  • Build strategic relationships with a network of GSK global stakeholders, to understand business requirements, identify opportunities to create value and to position Procurement’s value proposition. Align sourcing strategies accordingly.

  • Support & create compelling business cases for change and obtain approval to execute from GSK and/or other support functions (Finance, HR) senior management, and to agree how benefit delivery will be budgeted.

  • Contract planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation, and maintenance. Negotiate with suppliers and work with legal in bringing a contract from draft form to completion.

  • Deliver global benefits identified in strategies through effective strategy execution, aligned to assurance of supply (risk management), compliance, quality, service, cost, and innovation.

  • Build strategic relationships with key suppliers at a senior level and lead processes to ensure value is driven from these relationships Ensure Business Unit considerations are accounted for in supplier relationships.

  • Build relationships with key GSK sites (Finance, Planning, Logistics, Site Procurement).

  • Ensure appropriate communication strategy is in place and in use within the relevant Procurement and business customer networks.

  • Manage 3rd Party Capital spend working with Procurement & Technical teams to develop strategies, business cases, budget requirements & governance endorsement through key senior business stakeholders.

  • Support (or lead) SRM relationship at enterprise level for key Packaging suppliers.

  • Support, develop and drive Sustainability roadmaps to deliver GSK’s commitment on sustainability.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • University degree.

  • 5+ years of Direct Procurement experience ideally within the area of packaging materials.

  • Proficiency in English

  • Category development and execution experience.

  • Proven ability to lead high level negotiations for long term and/or multi-countries high value contracts.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Good understanding of financial principles and reporting.

  • Stakeholder management experience at a senior level (as far as SVP) internally and with key suppliers.
