Job Description:

Maryland Environmental Service is seeking a Program Manager to join the Technical and Environmental Services (TES) Group and oversee the Engineering and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) sections. This position is located at MES Headquarters in Millersville, MD but the selected candidate may be required to travel for meetings and site visits within the state. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership, project management and technical oversight for engineering, GIS and environmental projects, operations, activities, and services to ensure the success of the group. The Program Manager supervises project teams, which may include engineers, environmental specialists, and GIS technical staff and is responsible for a collaborative and productive team environment. Responsibilities include initiating contact with potential clients for new opportunities to grow the group, strategic vision and leadership, preparing proposals, tracking project budgets, and creating and distributing project invoices when appropriate. A highly desirable candidate will be detail orientated, with strong communication skills, in addition to having experience with the utilization of GIS software for data visualization and analysis within an engineering, planning and environmental context.

Estimated Pay Range:

$85,568.63 - $117,500

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, Geography, GIS Technology, Environmental Science, Cartography, Computer Science, Project Management, business/finance or related field, plus 8 years of applicable engineering, GIS, or environmental site assessment and remediation experience or other related field. Five years of this experience must have included managing environmental, GIS or engineering projects and/or supervising technical multi-disciplinary environmental, engineering or GIS staff, preferably in Maryland. An applicable advanced education degree may be substituted for up to two years of experience. Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points.
