Summary :

The Supervisor of the CAH ED Program Acute Care/CIN creates and sustains a high functioning CAH ED provider team that provides the best quality of care to our patients at the following ThedaCare ED locations; ThedaCare Berlin location, (TCB), ThedaCare New London (TCNL), ThedaCare Wild Rose (TCWR), Thedacare Waupaca (TCW), ThedaCare Shawano (TCS), Theda Care Fond du Lac and ThedaCare Oshkosh. Forecasts FTE needs and updates scheduling templates to meet the patient demand. Recruits and sustains locum coverage as needed, ensures proper orientation, and integrates locum providers within the CAH ED program.

Job Description:

Key Accountabilities

  • Creates and updates schedule template to meet patient and provider needs. Monitors patient census and identifies opportunities to adjust provider schedule to meet patient care needs. Makes recommendations to Director and physician leader regarding changes in provider coverage.
  • Recruits and retains locums CAH ED physicians and APCs to ensure the proper 24/7 coverage. Forecasts and process locums’ expenses enabling ThedaCare to accurately account for and plan business expenditures of locum providers and ensures locums are current and up to date on education and licensure.
  • Collaborates with coding and auditing team assigned to the CAH ED team. Ensures initial and ongoing coding/CDI education is provided.
  • Coordinates on-site provider interviews with the CAH ED leaders. Participates in provider interviews and provides input into hiring decision.
  • Coordinates and facilitates physician orientation and onboarding requirements.
  • Oversees payroll to ensure proper payouts per provider contract and ensures pay practices are calculated appropriately.
  • Serves as a liaison between the inpatient units and CAH ED teams. Provides information and resources as needed to include service line support. Communicates key announcements and maintains team documents. Assist providers with necessary documentation necessary for death certificates and other important forms as needed.
  • Reconciliation of hours and pay as defined by Medical Specialty leadership and provider contract
  • Oversees credentialing process for new providers as well as reappointments
  • CME process compliance and tracking of funds. Staffing model proposals to support patient needs and provider requests to maintain and retain valued employees.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate Degree in a related filed
  • Experience: Four years relevant experience in hospital setting 

Physical Demands

  • Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance
  • Category 2: Job classification is not exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties
