Job Description Diagnostic Imaging
Job Purpose
The main role for the Diagnostic Imager is to contribute to the provision of a high-quality imaging service to the patients seen by the multidisciplinary team at Anderson Moores, including participation in an Out Of Hours (OOH) rota.
Supervise image acquisition with other modalities including radiography, CT, MRI and fluoroscopy; when needed, the Diagnostic Imager may also be directly involved in the acquisition of these studies (e.g. OOH)
Interpretation of imaging studies (ultrasound, radiography, CT, MRI, fluoroscopy) and providing verbal and written reports
Perform contrast studies including radiography, CT and fluoroscopy
Supervising imaging residents; reviewing and verifying imaging reports of imaging residents
Support residents providing imaging advice for RVS submitted through other clinical departments
Support techs with trouble-shooting of imaging and IT equipment
Support smooth running of department and facilitation of workflow
Participate in optimization of imaging protocols and shared learning of best practice
Advise clinicians in the planning of imaging workup of their cases, including choice of modality and best imaging protocol with consideration of patient-centred contextualized care
Help maintain general imaging records and FUJI Synapse PACS system
Adhere to safe working practices in line with Radiation Protection and MR Safety legislation and guidelines
Participate in formal and informal teaching, such as rounds and film reading for imaging residents, residents on externships and rotating interns
Participate in internal and external CPD including M&M rounds and CPD provision for RVS
