Job Description:

This position on the EMEA Marketing team is responsible for coordinating Abiomed’s product strategy, communication, and product launches with a focus—though not exclusively—on the surgery portfolio (Impella 5.5, RP) as well as Heart Failure and ICU-related therapies. The role requires a strong understanding of evolving clinical evidence and its impact on therapy adoption, ensuring these insights are effectively translated to the sales team and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Strategically manage all aspects of internal and external marketing strategy, including leader intent and cross-functional alignment with all business partners, ensuring consistency and flawless execution.

  • Adapt global marketing plans (including regional and regulatory requirements) and communication strategies to local needs. Coordinate regional rollouts and ensure sharp marketing messaging and compelling value propositions for both internal and external communication.

  • Analyze market gaps, growth potential, and customer needs—particularly in Cardiac Surgery, Heart Failure and ICU care pathways—to guide product marketing materials and provide recommendations, collaborating closely with the global marketing and EMEA communication teams.

  • Ensure competitive readiness across the portfolio, including monitoring new clinical evidence, competitor activities, and emerging technologies.

  • Lead product launch execution, including launch communication, campaign development, and internal readiness to support product updates and introductions.

  • Translate new clinical evidence into clear, actionable insights for the sales team to support customer conversations and therapy adoption.

  • Approximately 20% field-based engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree highly preferred.

  • 6-8 years of proven experience in a marketing role, ideally in medtech; experience in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular therapies, or related clinical areas preferred.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in project planning, cross-functional coordination, and budgeting.

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize.

  • Experience utilizing data to define or optimize digital strategy.

  • Passion for helping others and a strong desire to improve outcomes for patients.
