We are looking for you to join our team for a Sr Principal Project Management role based out of San Diego, CA. Teleworking is not available as an option for this position.

What You’ll get to do:

  • Work as an independent thinker in a fast-paced, multi-faceted, and collaborative team-based environment.

  • Work cross-functionally with Program Management, Field Engineering management, technical and other supporting staff.

  • Overall responsibilities include executable tasks that will enable program leadership and management to achieve operational excellence.

  • Define, plan, perform, monitor, control, and complete a variety of project tasks simultaneously.

  • Gather historical cost data and report on such activities as labor, travel, operating expenses, etc. and projects expenses in support of our deployed programs.

  • Review and support travel and operating expense reports for submission to management.

  • Identifying, allocating and managing program resources, including workforce (WLF) planning.

  • Managing suppliers that align with our program purchase orders to meet program objectives.

  • Performing work related to planning, monitoring, and controlling work scope within our deployment readiness team.

  • Other duties as assigned.

This position offers an attractive 9/80 work schedule (contingent upon business needs); you'll enjoy working nine-hour days from Monday to Thursday, giving you the rewarding benefit of every other Friday off! This arrangement facilitates extended weekends for a better work-life balance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience in Project Management, Program Integration/Execution; or 6 years with master’s degree. An additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.

  • Knowledge of Project Management principles

  • Experience interfacing with cross-functional teams and leadership

  • Experience with Microsoft Office tool suite; the ability to create, manage, and manipulate the tools, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

  • US Citizenship and current/active DoD Secret clearance are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Business Management, Operations Management or Project Management experience

  • Control Account Manager (CAM) experience/certification

  • Experience with SAP

  • Experience with SharePoint

  • Scheduling experience

  • Experience with Concur

Primary Level Salary Range: $113,500.00 - $170,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
