OVERVIEW:
Experienced in managing end-to-end customs operations for both vessel and truck shipments, ensuring seamless coordination with brokers and transportation providers. Demonstrates strong compliance expertise with Peruvian import regulations through meticulous documentation review, accurate recordkeeping, and support for government reporting. Collaborates cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, and Finance to align customs activities with broader business objectives. Skilled in auditing processes, maintaining SOPs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Adept at leading special projects involving data analysis, regulatory research, and interdepartmental collaboration.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage daily customs operations for vessel and truck shipments, including document processing, inventory control, and coordination with brokers and transportation providers.
• Ensure full compliance with Peruvian import regulations by reviewing documentation, maintaining accurate customs records, and supporting government reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Marketing, Operations, and Finance—to align customs activities with business needs and support strategic decision-making.
• Oversee import documentation review for accuracy in values, taxes, and volumes; ensure timely submission to brokers and government agencies.
• Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process maps, and lead continuous improvement efforts to streamline customs processes.
• Assist in internal and external audits by organizing, validating, and providing necessary documentation.
• Lead and support special projects involving data analysis, regulatory research, and interdepartmental coordination.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum undergraduate degree in accounting/International Business/Business Administration/Finance
• 3-5 years of Customs, tax data analysis, or Customs Broker Agency
• Advanced excel and/or AI flow coding
• Bilingual - Fluency (speaking and writing) in both Spanish and English
