Job Description:

Coordinates with operational, programs, and services leadership to support and advance strategies, objectives, and initiatives across the service line.

Collaborates with physicians, clinicians, and various stakeholders to develop efficient and effective processes. Uses advanced analytic skills to analyze data from multiple sources to improve care, reduce costs, foster growth, ensure compliance, and promote system-wide collaboration. Serves as a liaison between technical and clinical teams to accurately analyze and evaluate opportunities and results. Serves as the subject matter expert for regulatory requirements, payer policy, billing requirements, and documentation standards to ensure compliance across the service line.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Supports and advances clinical service line identified initiatives
    • Partners with service line operational leaders, physician leaders, and other service line team members in the identification, development and implementation of service line initiatives.
    • Partners with clinical experts in the development of appropriate clinical best practice standards, data measurement, and metrics for targeted populations.
    • Utilizes quality improvement tools to facilitate high impact and complex projects.
    • Serves as a key contributor through data analytics in the identification of unnecessary variation in clinical practice that may impact quality, patient experience, and total cost of care.
    • Develops and implements service line-level workflows across teams to create efficiencies.
    • Collaborates with physicians and business unit leaders to ensure consistent implementation of processes and practices.
  • Partners with site(s) leadership to ensure regulatory, accreditation, and quality requirements are met.
    • Participates in the organization's internal regulatory and accreditation survey processes, assists with survey planning and may act as a mock surveyor.
    • Identifies, recommends and implements strategies to improve site(s) regulatory and accreditation programs which may include development of policies, procedures, templates and other tools to support sites in order to meet requirements.
    • Participates in the analysis and interpretation of data, communicates outcomes, and works with leaders and teams to develop and implement improvement plans.
    • Collaborates and consults on regulatory compliance and initiatives to promote quality and performance goals.
    • May lead data abstraction teams.
  • Serves as a payment policy resource to leadership and business units
    • Reviews all major payment related proposed and final rules impacting organizational strategy and business
    • Works with numerous key stakeholder groups, including payer relations, to gather input to proposed rules and review implications and implementation for all final rules and payer policies.
    • Directs the intake, assessment, and interpretation, planning implementation and monitoring of new and existing payer requirements and regulations via data review and chart audit processes.
  • Promotes collaboration and communication across clinical and operational teams, sites, levels of care, and disciplines
    • Builds and maintains relationships across departments within and outside of the service line to support ongoing work.
    • Works as a liaison between healthcare and technical team members to gather requirements for clinical service initiatives.
    • Partners with technical staff to develop analytics/reports for clinical service initiatives.
    • Facilitates consistent meaningful communication across groups and settings. Acts as a liaison when necessary.
  • Team Leadership
    • Interviews, hires, and ensures appropriate onboarding for staff. Ensures annual and applicable training is made available and completed for all staff.
    • Provides staff performance reviews, mentoring, coaching, and career counseling.
    • Leads provider and department staff meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Language Pathology
  • 5+ years experience practicing as a physical therapist, occupational therapist or speech language pathologist in a facility-based setting
  • 3+ years experience using an electronic medical record for documenting physical therapy practice


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy and Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Occupational Therapy or Speech Language Pathology
  • 2+ years experience in healthcare leadership
  • Experience leading projects or quality initiatives


Licenses/Certifications

  • Licensed Physical Therapist - MN State Board of Physical Therapy required
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist - MN Department of Health required
  • Licensed Speech Language Pathologist - MN Department of Health required

Pay Range

Pay Range: $45.40 to $62.82 per hour

The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience and education. Additional incentives may be available, including discretionary monetary bonuses, goal-based bonuses, and other financial incentives.
