SUMMARY

The Project Manager (PM), Cryptocurrency and Sanctions Compliance, works cross-functionally with the Cryptocurrency and Intelligence Operations teams and Engagement Leads (EL’s) to coordinate Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions compliance and ransom payments while corresponding with Carrier, Counsel & Client (CCC) in the execution of a ransomware (RW) engagement. The PM is responsible for owning the administrative aspects of the cryptocurrency team during an engagement and working with the immediate team members as well as other Arete shared resource groups to exceed the needs of CCC.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Coordinates with the intelligence operations team throughout RW engagements
  • Manages accuracy and accountability of the Intelligence Operations and Threat Intelligence Teams, Engagement Leads and Tiger Team (TT) members with respect to timeline of engagement/engagement updates, OFAC requirements, coordination with CCC, data capture, invoicing
  • Collects and organizes information related to RW engagements in preparation for OFAC sanctions compliance clearance and ransom payments
  • Collaborates with the Cryptocurrency/Compliance Team to ensure RW engagement awareness, obtains complete and accurate documentation relating to RW engagements, and adheres to data retention policies
  • Conducts regular audits of internal documentation collected during RW Engagements and post-ransom payment for regulatory purposes
  • Facilitates delivery/receipt of Know-Your-Customer (KYC) documentation for KYC compliance clearance
  • Completes OFAC Compliance process for other Finance and Operations organizations
  • Completes and files Federal and International Compliance reporting requirements, including Federal MSB Requirements and Canadian Compliance Requirements
  • Coordinates with Finance Team for funds wiring and transfer from Crypto Banking Partners to Crypto Brokerages and supports the ransom payment invoicing process
  • Supports the movement and acquisition of Cryptocurrency and ransom payment and approval process
  • Communicates and coordinates via email with CCC
  • Coordinates audit and information requests with law enforcement and other government agencies
  • Coordinates financial information between internal/external parties
  • Works closely with Cryptocurrency/Compliance team during execution of OFAC sanctions clearance and the ransom payment process
  • Follows compliance procedures and files compliance reports as required
  • Assists with the evaluation and implementation of new compliance or cryptocurrency related applications, products, and services
  • Accurately documents ransom payment data for reporting purposes
  • May perform other duties as assigned by management

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE  

  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives with limited supervision
  • Ability to utilize established procedures and methods to solve problems
  • A deep understanding of working with legal counsel and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, experience working with and communicating to C-level executives, attorneys, and insurance carriers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite products
  • Project management software and/or customer relationship management (CRM) experience preferred
  • Virtual meeting tool experience (i.e. Zoom, Webex, etc.)
  • High attention to detail with organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Typically requires Associate's Degree and 4-6 years related experience or Bachelor's Degree and 0-2 years related experience
  • Must have flexibility with hours

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with Arete salary and benefit policy.

FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY

Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
