About the Job

The Red Hat Information Technology Experience (ITX) team is looking for a Unified Communications and Collaboration Engineer to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be part of a small team that owns the service delivery of our communication and collaboration platforms globally. As a Communications & Collaboration Engineer, you will identify, prioritize, and resolve critical communication and collaboration-related issues that impact business operations. This role will focus on services supporting the public sector teams in support certifying and maintaining FedRAMP and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) certified solutions. In addition, you will proactively seek to communicate solutions to users and key stakeholders and highlight transitions to preferred emerging technologies that can be used to improve the overall health of the company’s communication and collaboration strategy.

What You'll Do

  • Configure, document, and manage a dedicated Google Workspace environment conforming to Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements.

  • Support ongoing security updates required to maintain compliance with CMMC requirements.

  • Provide unified communications & collaboration service support for all enterprise business locations

  • Provide critical Level 2 and 3 communications support to all locations

  • Develop, communicate, and maintain communication standards for all enterprise teams

  • Work with technical teams to ensure that hardware and software infrastructure is maintained with latest firmware and software requirements

  • Proactively communicate the status, plans of action, and resolutions of issues

  • Monitor and report the performance of communications components against KPIs and take preemptive measures to minimize interruptions

  • Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving the overall network health by assessing overall effectiveness and efficiency

  • Evaluate new technologies and platforms to determine whether their applicability aligns with businesses needs

  • Communicate with vendors and other IT teams for problem resolution

  • Serve as a point of contact with vendors on larger projects requiring professional services

  • Provide unified communications and collaboration life cycle management

  • Perform minor project management and vendor management for Unified Communications and Collaboration platforms (Google, RingCentral, and Slack)

  • Work with business partners to discover and document business requirements and capture business needs

  • Identify gaps and provide technical expertise in business requirements for system functional specifications and scale new and current systems, processes, and procedures in a cost effective manner.

What You'll Bring

  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements

  • Experience working with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Fed RAMP standards

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including product engineering, sales, marketing, IT, facilities buildout, etc.

  • Good written and verbal skills in English

  • Commercial experience with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) providers and offerings

  • Experience serving in an IT software support role, working in a technical area and interacting with customers

  • Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences

  • Experience working with external vendors and working on projects

  • Possess the ability to obtain a clearance

  • Google Workspace certification

The following are considered a plus:

  • ITIL v3/4 foundation, service design, or service management experience

  • Slack Certified Administrator qualification

The salary range for this position is $74,900.00 - $119,830.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
