The Integrated Solutions Modeling & Architecture (ISMA) Department supports customer focused mission modeling and simulation activities for all customer areas at Raytheon. Our teams develop, analyze, and create flexible integration solutions crossing all product areas such as sensors, effectors, command and control, logistics, and operations. They develop tools and methods to evaluate campaign, mission, and system level analysis and visualizations based on customer requirements. The department has a tradition of excellence through innovation and teamwork while championing individuality in a flexible work environment to meet the needs of today’s workforce.

This is an onsite role in Tucson, AZ

What You Will Do:

This is an onsite modeling and simulation (ModSim) position using our Python-based proprietary ModSim software called Rapid Campaign Analysis, Development Environment (RCADE). You will support the design, development, and utilization of medium-fidelity digital simulation software in advanced technical computing environments.

You will contribute your knowledge to evaluate work across a wide range of intriguing computational problems to answer operational questions such as:  
 

  • What should the next military system-of-systems look like?
  • What is the effectivity of new technologies against large-force adversary and multiple threats?
  • What counter-measures should be considered to increase effectivity and/or improve survivability, and what are the answers to the customer’s operational performance questions?
  • What numbers and costs get the best performance?
  • You will contribute to mission-level system modeling and data analysis activities to support new business, system-of-systems design, and operational impacts of new concepts of operations.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • 0+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Applied and/or academic experience of modeling and simulation of physical systems.
  • Numerical computing environments such as MATLAB.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.


Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
  • Previous experience in RCADE.
  • Specific majors: Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Operations Research, Math, Applied Math, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or similar.
  • Knowledge of the system engineering life-cycle model.
    Experience in data analysis and statistics especially dealing with large volumes of data.
  • Coursework or internship experience in the following areas:
    Software development processes and object-oriented design using C/C++ and/or Java in either Unix or Linux computing environments.
  • Scripting languages such as Python, Shell or Perl.
  • AI/ML and high-performance computing (HPC) grids.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a high performing team.

The salary range for this role is 62,900 USD - 119,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
