Job Description

The Application Platform Developer works in the Architecture & Application Platform Development department of the Enterprise Technology Solutions (ETS) workgroup. They are responsible for configuring, customizing and extending commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications and for developing, maintaining, and supporting data integrations. Additional responsibilities include providing Tier 3 support, performing break-fix activities, complex issue resolution, root cause analysis, and supporting projects involving applications. The Application Platform Developer is a technical subject matter expert in customizing and extending applications, developing data integrations, and holds vital analytical, customer service, and problem-solving skills.

Role Responsibilities

  • Configure, customize, and extend one or more applications to meet business requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and support data integrations between applications.
  • Develop and maintain reports using native business intelligence / analytics capabilities of applications.
  • Develop high quality, robust, well documented code according to standards.
  • Write specifications and test cases as needed to support quality assurance efforts of applications.
  • Triage, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they pertain to applications or data integrations.
  • Create and contribute to knowledgebase articles and solutions
  • Collaborate with projects managers, business analysts, application platform developers, and others to deliver technical solutions that meet the needs of the business.

Role Requirements

Education

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related discipline. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Desired

  • Certification as a developer for one or more enterprise applications.

Knowledge & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience configuring, customizing, and extending one or more enterprise applications for a large organization.
  • 2+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining data integrations between disparate systems using JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar programming language.
  • 2+ years of experience developing and maintaining applications or modules using a low code development platform (LCDP) such as Microsoft Power Apps, OutSystems Platform, or similar.
  • 2+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining data integrations between disparate systems using an application integration platform such as Workato, Boomi, or similar.
  • 2+ years of experience developing RESTful APIs with REST, SOAP, JSON, and XML.
  • 2+ years of experience working in Microsoft Windows and Windows Server operating systems.
  • 2+ years of experience using Azure DevOps or equivalent DevOps toolchains with experience using Git and/or Subversion for source control management.
  • Strong understanding of application deployment concepts including utilization of multiple application or system environments (development, testing, staging, and production), testing, and rollbacks.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure Functions or similar serverless technologies.
  • Strong understanding of integration technologies including EDI, Web Services, and XSLT.
  • Strong understanding of XML interface description languages such as WADL and WSDL.
  • Working knowledge of database technologies such as Oracle, SQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Working knowledge of database programming languages such as T-SQL or PL/SQL.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware or Citrix.
  • Strong understanding of information security concepts including confidentiality, integrity, availability, role-based access control (RBAC), principle of least privilege, auditing, logging, and permissions management.
  • Familiarity with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practices, tools, and processes such as asset, access, incident, and problem management; change control; and service request fulfillment.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and workflows as they relate to enterprise and business applications.

Work Conditions

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at a computer screen.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Occasional domestic travel, via airplane, will be required for meetings.

This is a hybrid role with most time being spent working from home. Attendance at important meetings and events at the local DPR office is required.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Salary is just one component of DPR's total compensation package. Denver Pay Range: $90,121 to $135,181. Colorado Springs Pay Range: - $81,928 to $122,892
