MUFG is seeking a Senior Global Mobility Partner to join their London-based HR Central Services team, supporting internationally mobile employees across the EMEA region. What you'll do:
As a Senior Global Mobility Partner at MUFG in London, you will play a central role in managing the end-to-end global mobility process for employees across the EMEA region. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve acting as the primary contact for all mobility-related queries—offering expert advice on policies, resolving complex cases efficiently, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements. You will collaborate closely with HR Business Partners and external vendors to facilitate smooth assignments and relocations while maintaining rigorous oversight of payroll processes. By focusing on client satisfaction and timely service delivery, you will help prevent delays in international moves. Additionally, you will contribute to strategic initiatives such as developing attraction strategies for key talent mobilisation campaigns. Your ability to manage large workloads calmly under pressure will be essential as you guide stakeholders through risks associated with tax or immigration. As SME for global mobility topics within EMEA, you will lead process improvements that enhance operational efficiency while upholding MUFG’s vision of excellence in HR service delivery.
Provide technical and complex tier 2 support to employees and stakeholders across MUFG on all aspects of the Global Mobility lifecycle, including policy advice, case management, and resolution of issues.
Act as the escalation point for intricate global mobility matters by leveraging deep technical knowledge and internal resources to reduce reliance on external vendors.
Deputise for the EMEA Regional Lead of Global Mobility Operations when required, ensuring continuity of service and leadership within the team.
Initiate assignments and relocations with external vendors efficiently, ensuring completion within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and maintaining high standards of accuracy.
Oversee third-party preparation of Home Staff Payroll by sharing data accurately and promptly; partner with payroll vendors to ensure SLAs are met through regular vendor management meetings.
Maintain a client-centric approach by supporting effective outcomes for internal clients and preventing delays in mobility movements through timely handling of requests.
Partner with HR teams to develop attraction strategies that mobilise key resources for campaigns or programmes while advising on cost management and levels of support provided to individuals.
Guide HR and business stakeholders on global mobility movements—including international assignees, trainees, interns, secondees, delegates, and home staff—while presenting areas of risk related to tax, immigration, and external variables.
Ensure accurate maintenance of all data relating to mobility movements with EMEA tax vendors, immigration offices, and internal systems.
Lead as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for EMEA-wide global mobility items by providing advice across all branches and holding third-party outsourced vendors accountable for delivery as per SLAs.

With strong interpersonal abilities rooted in empathy and sensitivity, you excel at building trustful relationships while navigating complex cases involving tax or immigration risks. Your proficiency in case management tools enables efficient tracking/resolution of issues; meanwhile your high level of literacy/numeracy supports detailed reporting/analysis tasks. You are adept at communicating professionally across cultures—making you an invaluable resource during challenging assignments or relocations. Familiarity with Workday enhances your ability to maintain accurate records; additional language skills further strengthen your capacity for cross-border collaboration.
Extensive experience working within a Global Mobility Team with exposure across EMEA regions—preferably within financial services or other regulated sectors—demonstrating deep subject matter expertise.
Comprehensive understanding of employment legislation in the UK and other EMEA countries combined with advanced HR knowledge relevant to international assignments.
Technical proficiency in overseas payroll processes—including shadow payrolls—and proven ability to oversee third-party payroll preparation with zero error tolerance.
Expertise in process mapping methodologies that enable you to design creative solutions improving historical practices within HR teams.
Ability to prioritise stakeholder needs effectively by delivering accurate advice according to policy, process, and legislation while maintaining confidentiality.
Previous experience managing complex global mobility cases involving tax considerations within shared service centres or head office environments using case management tools.
Proven track record advising business partners as a Global Mobility Expert—delivering pragmatic HR solutions tailored to organisational needs.
Awareness of how current legislation impacts employment practices coupled with high literacy/numeracy skills sufficient for complex report writing/statistical analysis.
Excellent communication skills enabling sensitive interactions across diverse employee groups; inspiring trust through professionalism and empathy.
Proficiency in Workday or similar HR Information Systems; secondary language skills are desirable but not essential.
