Xumo, a joint venture between Comcast and Charter Communications, was formed to develop and offer a next-generation streaming platform for the entire entertainment industry. The company consists of three primary lines of business: Xumo devices, Xumo Play, and Xumo Enterprise. Powered by Comcast’s global entertainment platform, Xumo devices feature a world-class user interface with universal voice search capabilities, making it easy for consumers to find and enjoy their favorite streaming content. Xumo Play is a free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) service offering hundreds of linear channels and on-demand options. Xumo Enterprise provides tools and services for content creators, distributors, and advertisers to make FAST content more accessible.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer for Xumo, the Executive Director will be responsible for leading financial planning and analysis. The FP&A leader plays an important & critical role in the management of Xumo. Responsibilities include leading the annual budget process, collaborating with business leaders in creating periodic forecasts and business analysis. Responsibilities will also include special projects. The FP&A team is focused on providing senior management with data driven insights to support business decisions and resource allocations. This role will also interpret business strategy and develops organizational objectives to align with this strategy. This role will also manage & develop a team.

With Xumo’s nationwide scale, the venture seeks to develop and offer a next-generation streaming platform on a variety of branded streaming devices and smart TVs.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities 

  • Conduct financial analysis, business analysis and profitability and cost analysis projects that are presented to senior management. Directs and oversees preparation and review of monthly operating financial statements, forecasts, monthly variance analysis, external financial statements and budget process. 

  • Analyze variances from planned or forecasted results in order to provide insights and recommendations to management 

  • Support business leaders with the management of their budgets. Lead the preparation and review of financial planning materials so leaders can manage their business objectives against budget and plan goals 

  • Directly manage a team of 9 and due to the nature of the JV collaborate closely with others across Comcast 

  • Direct the preparation of all financial reports and analysis for management and operations review 

  • Develop ways to continually improve processes to ensure timely and accurate analysis for management team. 

  • Provides motivation, direction and leadership for Finance team and adheres to the policies and standards of the Company. 

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. 

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary. 

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Position is office based in Philadelphia, PA (4 days in office & 1 day remote)
