Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS), Strategic Deterrent Systems division has an opening for a Principal/ Sr Principal Proposal Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Division Capture Excellence team in our Huntsville, Alabama or Roy, Utah facility. The selected candidate must be able to work on site and be willing and able to travel if needed (up to 10%). Flexible/hybrid work arrangements may be possible at times and will vary based on proposal. The proposals we work on may include top Priority Wins, competitive pursuits, and sole source efforts. Candidates for this position will demonstrate a broad skill set that is balanced across leadership, collaboration, innovation, communication, project management, risk management, and proposal-based capabilities. Customer satisfaction is a top priority, and qualified candidates must have demonstrated experience working multiple projects simultaneously, performing to tight deadlines, possess excellent project management and time management skills, detail oriented, and solid communication skills.

What You’ll Get To Do: 

• Develops, plans and schedules proposals.

• Compiles cost, schedule, and technical elements in the development of proposals in accordance with request for proposal (RFP) specifications.

• Coordinates the collection and accumulation of cost, scheduling, and performance elements from functional departments.

• Researches and analyzes historical data, develops cost models to support proposal efforts.

• Coordinates activities and participates in fact-finding meetings.

• Participates in should-cost and pricing reviews with management and customer representatives.

• Participates as a member of the contract negotiating team.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a Principal level or level Sr. Principal level.

• Principal Proposal Analyst: Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of government contracts, subcontracts, estimating and pricing, finance, business administration or other related experience OR a Master's Degree with 3 years OR PHD with 1 year OR 4 additional years in lieu of degree of related experience 

• Sr Principal Proposal Analyst: Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of government contracts, subcontracts, estimating and pricing, finance, business administration or other related experience OR a Master's Degree with 6 years OR a PHD with 4 years OR 4 additional years in lieu of degree of related experience  

Required for Both Levels: 

• Experience reviewing, understanding, and responding to customer requests for proposal (RFPs)

• Proficiency with MS Project, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

• 1 year of experience with the U.S. Government’s acquisition process including federal procurement regulations (FAR/DFAR) 

• Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance

Salary Range: $87,000.00 - $216,400.00Salary Range 2: $0.00 - $0.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
