2026 Undergraduate Summer Intern – Job Posting 

 

Department Title: Undergrad Intern – Global Public Relations 

 

Please read before applying:

Eligibility – The candidate must be majoring in Public Relations or Communications. Prior experience as a Corporate communications Intern, Marketing & Communications Intern, Investor Relations intern, Public relations intern, external relations intern or corporate affairs intern is required. Candidate must have prior Public Relations experience at an agency.

Start Date: All interns must start in office and in person on June 8, 2026. 

Anticipated End Date: August 14, 2026 – All interns must be in office and in person on their last day to return equipment. Interns must be located in the same location throughout the duration of their internship and are prohibited from returning laptop/equipment to a different office location or shipping their equipment back

Position Summary:   

 

A Global Corporate Communications Intern at Franklin Templeton will split their time between two areas of the business: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Public Relations.

The Corporate Social Responsibility team focuses on promoting more positive outcomes for customers, shareholders, colleagues, and the people in communities where we operate around the world. Responsibilities of this position relate to Corporate Social Responsibility broadly with an emphasis of the following areas:  

  • Franklin Templeton’s employee volunteering program, Involved, which encourages community service efforts across the firm’s worldwide offices and provides the framework, expertise, and resources for employees to pursue charitable and volunteer interests 

  • Coordinating the firm’s June Impact Days, Franklin Templeton’s global dedicated month of service 

  • Corporate Giving

The Public Relations team seeks to positively position Franklin Templeton in the media as the premier global investment management organization with its experienced team of respected investment managers, comprehensive line of top-performing investment solutions and strong brand presence. Responsibilities of this team include:

A Global Corporate Communications Intern at Franklin Templeton can expect to learn: 

 

  • Employee engagement and internal communications strategies  

  • External communications and media relations strategies, including how to identify news hooks, pitch reporters, manage media requests and work with company spokespeople  

  • Daily media coverage monitoring  

  • Drafting and editing press releases, talking points and Q&A documents 

  • Internal communications tools, including email campaigns and employee communication platforms, like SharePoint and Yammer/Viva Engage 

  • Working with global teams across multiple regions and geographies  

  • Media training techniques 

 

 

Key Responsibilities Can Include: 

 

  • The Global Corporate Communications Intern will play a critical role in Franklin Templeton’s June Impact Days by drafting content on volunteer opportunities, communicating volunteer objectives and logistics, and answering queries  

  • Identifying daily pertinent news coverage to share internally  

  • Drafting and editing press releases, talking points and Q&A documents  

  • Interacting with the internal Public Relations team and external PR agencies on media pitching and spokesperson coordination  

 

 

Ideal Qualifications: 

  • Curiosity and interest in a broad range of topics, including current events, financial markets, climate and sustainability, and diversity and inclusion  

  • Creative thinking skills with the ability to identify and craft compelling messaging  

  • Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively as well as independently 

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects for different teams at once while adhering to deadlines

This is a full-time internship where students will work approximately 35 (dependent on state/location) hours per week and earn competitive hourly pay of $30 (dependent on location and function) USD per hour.
