Job Description Summary:
Logan Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiology/CT Technologist to join our team. This role combines expertise in diagnostic imaging with a commitment to patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment.Required:
Current Montana Radiology Technologist License.
ARRT Registration.
Current AHA BLS certification (or ability to obtain within two months of hire).
Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and experience using PACS systems.
Basic computer literacy.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret instructions in various formats.
Preferred:
Experience with McKesson systems.
Clinical Duties:
Perform general diagnostic X-ray and CT exams, assisting physicians with specialty procedures.
Conduct daily safety checks, equipment warm-ups, and quality control assessments.
Operate and demonstrate proficiency with X-ray and CT equipment, ensuring proper usage and maintenance.
Perform preventive maintenance checks, identify safety concerns, and report issues promptly.
Interview patients to explain procedures, review medical history, and assess potential contraindications or allergies.
Document examination details accurately on "tech sheets" following departmental guidelines.
Position patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the process.
Monitor patients during examinations, maintaining clear communication through the microphone system.
Demonstrate understanding of axial, coronal, and sagittal anatomy, as well as general human anatomy and physiology.
Enter patient data, specify scan parameters, and adjust equipment settings via computer systems.
Evaluate image quality during exams and ensure optimal diagnostic results.
Provide exceptional patient care, maintaining a positive and empathetic demeanor with patients and families.
Educate staff on the risks associated with magnet room hazards and enforce safety protocols.
Adapt care to meet the specific needs of patients across all age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
General Duties:
Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a clean and organized environment.
Manage supply inventory and ensure rooms are well-stocked.
Assist colleagues as needed to support departmental operations.
Maintain accurate records for examinations, departmental statistics, and research purposes.
Protect patient privacy and uphold their dignity at all times.
Adhere to hospital policies and maintain familiarity with departmental workflows.
Report equipment malfunctions and prioritize stat requisitions effectively.
Perform clerical tasks, such as scheduling exams, maintaining daily logs, inputting charges in the EHR system, and preparing patient exam CDs or films.
Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and teamwork.
Participate in compliance training and adhere to Logan Health's Compliance Plan and Code of Conduct.
