Position Overview:

The Senior HR Business Partner will work with leaders and their teams directly to identify and implement people strategies that are aligned with business plans. This role maintains and improves the organizations human resources by providing human resources expertise across the functional areas of HR colleague engagement, , talent management, compliance, employee relations, total rewards, leadership development, etc to enable business results and growth.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the delivery and deployment of HR and cross-functional programs and processes by encouraging and maintaining strong internal relationships with key business leaders and partners
  • Uses good judgment supported by human resource competence and practical experience to lead the creation and implementation of strategic change initiatives for the client group, including organizational design, operating model, assessment and gap identification, communications and change management deliverables.
  • Establishes annual goals and priorities by leading the analysis and diagnosis of client needs, influences the direction for new or revised services, programs, processes, standards, or operational plans, based upon the departments or functions longer term strategies.
  • Align the business strategies with HR strategic objectives to add new value to the client, leading through issues which are sophisticated and arise from broad internal or external issues
  • Partner with recruiters and the client to develop proactive strategies to attract key talent, as well as retain and develop high potential and hard-working colleagues, ensuring the right people are in the right job for current and future business needs
  • Play a leadership role to recognize barriers to success and facilitate proactive solutions that support a performance driven culture with a focus on talent management, coaching and mentoring clients on talent reviews, performance management, succession and building a talent pipeline for HiPo's.
  • Promote, educate, and train on diversity and recognition programs at client level
  • Contribute to the development and growth of the broader HR team through effective training, coaching and team building.
  • Operate as a key enabler to the business as it drives engagement, Blue Culture and our b3 initiatives by counseling, guiding, facilitating, and allowing the business to own colleague engagement and the sustainment of culture.
  • Ensures that the interests of colleagues and company are considered in accordance with HR policies and applicable government laws and regulations – i.e.: ESA, Human Rights Code
  • Serve as a mentor and confidante to leaders around people and organizational issues, leadership development, and act as an advocate for colleagues
  • Other duties as required and assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in business, HR or related field, preferably with a CHRL or CHRM designation.
  • 7+ years progressive HR experience with demonstrable knowledge in the area of client relationship management
  • Strong leadership ability, relationship development, influencing and persuasion skills.
  • Comfortable presenting sophisticated business issues to leaders and executives in a clear and compelling manner and an excellent facilitator of action plans
  • Ability to interpret conceptual business or project objectives and assess impact on HR in order to define and articulate an inspiring future vision / state clearly, without having all the details
  • Proven track record in planning and strategic support to translate complex business initiatives projects with moderate to high degree of impact to the organization into a clear, consistent and systematic HR Strategy.
  • A detail oriented, collaborative, proactive and results oriented style with proven success in leading and working on projects and project teams as a great teammate
  • Proven influencing, judgment, decision making and cooperative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong integrity with ability to maintain confidentiality and handle highly sensitive information.
  • Strong digital literacy including Excel, Word and PowerPoint required
  • Strong analytic skills and superior ability to problem-solve sophisticated issues
  • Exceptional commitment to customer service with sound sense of urgency

  • Highly motivated, self-starter, requiring little direction
  • Sound knowledge of relevant employment and workplace legislation.
