Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Sr. Principal Structural Analysis Engineer, located in Redondo Beach, California,

Essential Functions: 

Composites Structural Analysis Engineer – Position requires experience in composites and metallics structural analysis methods and documentation, detailed analysis procedures, load paths, load distribution, sizing, fittings/fasteners/joints/splices, acoustics/vibration familiarity, structural integrity plan, design criteria, stability, crippling, durability analysis and finite element modeling of structure.  Desired skills include familiarity with layout sizing, and structural integrity evaluations, service life analysis.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of related experience OR a Master’s Degree with 7 years of related experience OR a PhD with 4 years of related experience

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience performing composites with syncore structural analysis on the F35 Program, and familiar with the Lockheed Martin tools such as IMAT, IDAT, VPC, and PDM. 

  • Experience in finite element analysis/modeling techniques, including manipulation of large finite element models.

Salary Range: $133,000.00 - $199,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
