About This Opportunity 

Kick‑start your marketing career at one of Australia’s leading universities. We’re looking for a creative, organised, and enthusiastic employee to join our Marketing & Recruitment team in the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences.

In this role, you’ll help shape how future students discover UQ — creating social media content, supporting recruitment events, collaborating with student ambassadors, and assisting with marketing materials and campaigns. It’s a hands‑on opportunity to build real experience across digital content, events, and student engagement.

This is a fixed term position; the contract end date is based on current funding arrangements. Usual discussions will occur prior to this date as to the continuation of this funding.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Create and edit engaging social media content using digital tools

  • Collaborate with students to co-create authentic recruitment content

  • Support planning and delivery of recruitment events and activities

  • Develop marketing collateral and provide general communications support

About You

  • Qualifications: A relevant Diploma (e.g., Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Public Relations) with work experience, or a Certificate IV in a related field with relevant experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience

  • Communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication, with ability to draft clear promotional content.

  • Organisational skills: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritise effectively.

  • Technical skills: Competence in social media content creation and social media platforms.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Customer service: Experience providing responsive and professional support to clients or students

Appointment to this role is subject to the successful completion of relevant pre-employment checks, which may include verification of the right to work in Australia, criminal history checks.
