General Accountant Job Posting

We are seeking a qualified and motivated General Accountant to join our team on a temporary full-time basis to cover a maternity leave. This contract is expected to begin August 2026 and continue until approximately December 2027 with the possibility of extension based on business needs.

Salary Range: $CA 65,000 - $CA 70,000

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of full-cycle accounting experience in a Canadian business environment.
  • College diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA designation.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of accounting principles and theory.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience working with ERP systems; experience with Epicor Kinetic is considered an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, the General Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of full-cycle accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate general ledger accounts.
  • Perform month-end closing activities and assist the VP Finance in preparing monthly financial reporting packages.
  • Prepare account reconciliations.
  • Maintain customer master data and manage accounts receivable collections.
  • Process and submit government remittances, including GST/HST, QST and etc.
  • Support year-end closing activities and assist with internal audits as required.
  • Provide support in other areas as needed.
