We're Looking for NAF Interns!

NAF’s Future Ready Lab powered by Pratt & Whitney is a unique paid internship opportunity designed for students at NAF Academies in the West Palm Beach, FL area. Interns will take part in skill-building workshops, gain hands-on experience in a professional setting, and collaborate with team members and mentors to complete a business project.

This paid internship experience will take place over the course of five weeks starting in June 2026.

NAF FRL Intern projects will center around Technology and Innovation, where interns will work on teams to solve a problem identified as critical to Pratt & Whitney’s growth through innovation, technology development, and continuous improvement. Interns will be able to incorporate new expertise into their project from what they learn in workshops and other professional development events.

The final week of the internship will be spent preparing a professional presentation based on the innovative solution identified, which intern teams will deliver to a panel of company executives and industry leaders.

What You Will Do

• English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English
• Design Engineering - Support the engineering team by assisting with basic design tasks, documentation, and hands - on activities within an engineering environment. This role provides exposure to real-world engineering processes, tools, and problem solving while helping students develop foundational technical skills. The intern will work under close supervision and contribute to ongoing department projects as appropriate.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Must be currently enrolled in the NAF Academy – Benito Cerezo High School.
• Rising seniors (summer between 11th & 12th grade)
• Minimum of a 2.5 GPA
• Commitment to all dates and times of the internship
• Must be at least 16 years of age

Hot Section Engineering is responsible for the design, development, technology maturation and in service support of all diffuser cases, combustors, turbines (vanes, blades, rotors and cases), augmenters (military), nozzles and associated fuel systems for all military, commercial and industrial engine models and radial auxiliary power units.  

Technical disciplines in HSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Durability and Product Definition.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
