Team overview

The External Content Strategy Centre of Expertise (COE) supports the Corporate and Public Affairs (CAPA's) broader mission to inspire and connect our customers, communities and colleagues through communications, conversations and advocacy that enrich lives, drive business outcomes and enhance our brand. This team delivers compelling stories that resonate with Canadians through traditional earned, owned and paid content, with an emphasis on year-round integrated programs that connect key financial trends, advice and customer needs.

Role Overview

We're looking for a strong and passionate communicator to develop and deliver engaging content for our Canadian Wealth, Insurance, Business Banking and Securities (WIBBS) businesses with a focus on supporting creative, customer-focused external communication programs that spotlight our brand, advocate for our customers and engage our audiences. This candidate will also have reporting accountabilities, enabling the team to track results and demonstrate impact.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and execution of integrated media strategies, delivering compelling external communications initiatives for TD's Wealth, Insurance, Business Banking and Securities (WIBBS) businesses, working collaboratively with partners including CAPA's relationship managers and digital content team as well as, Marketing, control partners in legal, privacy and compliance.
  • Execute integrated campaigns with a focus on providing valuable advice and increasing financial confidence among priority customer segments; leveraging TD experts and compelling narratives to help drive brand leadership in earned, paid and social media.
  • Help develop and deliver compelling and impactful paid programming and digital storytelling to amplify external messaging and earned media, leveraging social channels, the TD Newsroom and other assets.
  • Work closely with our external PR agency and TD Marketing colleagues to execute communication tactics that support and promote our brand positioning deliver storytelling that resonates with customers, communities and colleagues and supports our businesses.
  • Regularly capture both campaign and broader team results by maintaining measurement and identifying new ways to track, demonstrate and share outcomes.
  • Leverage and recommend new tracking tools and platforms to build and enhance reporting across traditional (earned, paid) and digital| social media channels.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with key journalists.
  • Monitor trends in the financial and consumer landscapes and proactively identify new and innovative ways of providing advice tailored to Canadians varying needs.

What you bring to the role

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in corporate communications or agency communications environment
  • Track-record of delivering creative and compelling PR, marketing communications campaigns and digital storytelling that drive outcomes.
  • Media relations background and demonstrated experience developing customer-centric corporate positioning in media messaging.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills to create materials that make an impact and resonate with target audiences, including digital content, news stories, media pitches and releases.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in an integrated capacity alongside business leaders, marketing and social media teams, publishing and creative design teams, vendors as well as control functions (legal, compliance, privacy etc.).   
  • Experience building and managing multilingual and multicultural PR campaigns
  • Capacity to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines; self-starter highly motivated to deliver results and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage budgets, multiple projects, results reporting, analysis tools and platforms and vendor relationships
  • Experience developing digital and visual campaigns, including storytelling through video.
