We’re seeking a talented and motivated Mortgage Adviser to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will play a pivotal role in assisting clients through their mortgage journey by providing expert advice tailored to their needs and financial circumstances.

The role

As mortgage adviser, your day will involve:

  • Successfully convert incoming residential and buy to let leads, complete repeat business and generate initial fee revenue from mortgage business
  • Develop a collaborative productive relationship with other areas of the business to help grow the Mortgage department
  • Consistently provide a high level of service to all customers to achieve customer goals and to ensure a seamless advice and application process is delivered, which results in positive customer outcomes
  • Maintain both knowledge and competency of the full range of mortgage products offered to new and existing customers ensuring that the best customer outcomes are achieved.
  • Be proactive with continual professional development of the mortgage market along with the wider financial industry 
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to and all contact made with customers meet regulatory requirements
  • Be proactive with improving existing procedures and introducing new procedures to ensure the Mortgage department is running as efficiently as possible

You’ll work closely with the Financial Planning and Wealth Planning teams, helping us drive great client outcomes.

Work hours
Please note, based on customer demand for out of hours mortgage applications you could be required to offer evening sessions once per week. The working pattern would be agreed in discussion with you, these evening working sessions would finish by 7pm.

In this role, success will be measured by: 

  • Driving mortgage revenue growth by converting incoming leads, generating repeat business, and maximising initial fee income through efficient case management and strong client relationships.

  • Delivering outstanding, compliant customer outcomes by providing a seamless advice and application journey, maintaining high service standards, and ensuring all regulatory and policy requirements are consistently met.

  • Strengthening collaboration, capability, and operational efficiency by building productive cross-team relationships, maintaining up-to-date product and market knowledge, and proactively improving processes within the Mortgage department.

What we look for

  • Minimum CeMAP qualified
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working as a mortgage adviser on a whole of market basis on both residential and buy to let 
  • In-depth knowledge of the mortgage industry, regulations, and mortgage products available in the market
  • Remain compliant – measurements include; Business Quality Assurance (BQA) grades, CPD, complaints upheld, Risk Events, etc
  • Work in a consistent and compliant manner to FCA standards
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Outstanding communication and listening skills, with the ability to explain complex information in a clear and simple format
  • Good technical knowledge of FCA regulations

The interview process

Our interview process typically includes: 

  • An intro call with our talent team
  • A competency-based interview with the hiring manager
  • A values interview with department director
  • An executive interview with our COO and CEO

We’ll keep it simple and respectful of your time, and you’ll meet the people you’ll actually work with. Our average process takes around four weeks but we’ll always work around your availability.

Base salary: £40,000 to £45,000 DOE + benefits
