Indirect Tax Specialist

Type of Employment: Permanent
Location: Riga, Latvia
Visa requirements: A valid work permit from the EU/EEA (relocation assistance is not provided) 

THE ROLE

Indirect Tax Specialist is a person who takes on the responsibility for VAT processes and declarations for client Business Units, in accordance with agreed timeline and quality.
 

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

• Acquire, analyze and prepare VAT data/ declarations and ensure accurate, compliant and timely submission of VAT declarations;
• Support VAT payment and refund process;
• Maintain accounting procedures related to VAT: settlements, reconciliation of VAT accounts, etc.;
• Maintain ERP master data for indirect taxes;
• Perform quality controls;
• Contribute to other projects and duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED 

• Higher education in Economics/ Finance or relevant field;
• Previous experience in accounting or finance (experience in VAT accounting will be considered as an advantage);
• Fluency in English (both verbal and written) to communicate with Business Units and colleagues in Europe and USA;
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks under strict deadlines;
• Advanced MS Excel skills, previous experience with ERP systems will be considered as an advantage.
