WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
Your direct team will be the Consumer Merchandising team, working alongside to create the future of Nike Apparel thru Line planning and Assortment Strategy.
We are currently recruiting for 2 Merchant II positions in this team:
1) SPORT Apparel (Basketball, Tennis, Golf) and 2) Lifestyle Apparel.
In partnership with other teams within Merchandising, Nike Direct and Partner Merchandising teams, you will bring the product and merchandising vision to life in the marketplace. You will also work closely with the Global Product Merchandising Team, with whom you will line plan and finalize the seasonal product line for the consumers in EMEA.
Besides Merchants, you will interact with cross-functional partners within the CFOP (Consumer Fields of Play) team: GM, Planning and Marketing on a regular basis. You will collaborate with these partners to ensure the right insights, trends, and opportunities are addressed with speed at the right time to influence seasonal assortments and future line plans.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for passionate merchants, who can take Nike Apparel to the next level. With your manager’s support, you will drive the merchandising process all the way from future line-planning to seasonal execution for your specific area of the business. The goal of the function is to serve the consumer in EMEA with the best product line-up, available where they shop, at the right time, right price and right place. The priority of your work will be to support the creation of the EMEA product line plan with an editor’s mindset, ensuring the consumer has clear and compelling choice by driving a profitable product offer.
So, in short – we are looking for Merchandising talent who is flexible, collaborative and has a clear understanding of the EMEA consumer, a sharp eye for product and loves to drive a smooth merchandising process:
Passionate about consumer and product, as well as fashion and/or sport industry.
Has clear understanding and shows curiosity of the EMEA consumer and marketplace.
Work experience in a corporate or retail (digital or physical) environment.
Experience on assortment creation is a plus.
Experience working managing multiple deadlines simultaneously.
Demonstrates the ability to combine art and science: product affinity and consumer trends combined with basic financial knowledge (pricing, margin) and analytical skills.
Ability to assess data, gather consumer insights and translate them into decisions and actions.
Ability to work with peers, cross functional partners, and senior management within a matrix organizational set-up.
A self-starter, optimistic and curious about the consumer and marketplace, with an entrepreneurial mindset
Demonstrates clear communication and storytelling.
Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and excel.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
If this is you, you will drive and execute the Nike Apparel Merchandising Strategy. This includes, amongst others, a clear assortment strategy, direction on segmentation and account differentiation. You will work in a complex x-functional environment, working with planning, marketing, and partner merchandising. You will support the creation of the future line planning to seasonal adoption, pricing, segmentation, and Assortment framework. As Merchant, you will lead your decision with consumer and marketplace insights to create and maintain the EMEA product line plan. You will respond to shifts in market trends by adapting and adjusting seasons in flight. So basically, you’ll be responsible for feeding the Global Teams with the latest consumer and marketplace insights to influence future line-planning, as well as shepherding the seasons thru the process from concept to seasonal execution in the geography.
