The opportunity
The Unity Production Services team is a group of highly skilled Software Developers and Technical Artists with deep expertise in the Unity platform, whose main goal is to help our customers improve their projects and internal workflows and assist them in the resolution of very challenging technical problems.

Our customers include globally-known brands, and they need their game performance optimized, visual targets met, and timely advice on how best to use Unity. If you're technically skilled, customer-focused, and curious, this job will suit you.

Your day-to-day work will include interacting with customers, researching and delivering the answers to their questions, developing solutions and examples, and striving to ensure that their projects succeed.

In the longer term, you'll become an established technical expert within Unity. You can pursue opportunities including personal research, speaking at conferences, delivering training to customers and colleagues, and guiding Unity's direction by providing feedback and advice to our R&D teams.

This is a rewarding role where you will see a diverse range of projects made in the Unity game engine and grow as an expert consultant. We help hundreds of games each year use best practices in Unity.

This role might involve occasional travel to customers’ offices and other Unity offices.

What you'll be doing

  • Understand Unity customer pain points and their development workflows to come up with solutions.
  • Development work on Unity tools and packages
  • Performance Optimization of Made with Unity titles for customers
  • Work on innovative new products which may include the use of A.I. technologies.
  • Custom development for customer projects

What we're looking for

  • Experience with a programming or scripting language such as C# or C++
  • Experience developing Editor tools in Unity
  • Knowledgeable on how to profile, analyse, and improve performance across several types of content, such as animation, shaders, meshes, textures, audio, etc.
  • Experience in shipping multiple games or other real-time interactive applications, including a proven understanding of software development lifecycles
  • Proficient in written and spoken English, and able to guide customers by clearly communicating ideas and technical knowledge via written reports

You might also have

  • Experience in UX/UI design and design tools such as Figma
  • Experience with Web technologies and UI systems and frameworks
  • Proficient in written and spoken Mandarin to work with Mandarin speaking clients
