We are support partners and leaders on the Wayfair Global Supply Chain Transportation and Delivery Enablement Team.  We support our large parcel locations, providing direct training & development to our Transportation & Delivery teams. We bring network-wide resources along with realistic and challenging training initiatives to optimize performance, employee engagement, and professional development for associates and leaders. We are culture enthusiasts throughout our entire Supply Chain network.  

We are looking for a proven leader to influence cross-functional teams responsible for development, standard work, and championing the Wayfair culture in our Middle Mile and Home Delivery Operations. The candidate must be a collaborative problem solver, strategic planner, and one who can manage & supervise high performing teams in a fast-paced, rapidly challenging, and fluid environment. 

Schedule:   

  • Hours for this position are four 10-hour shifts per week.
  • Monday - Thursday 1PM-12AM
  • At times, will need to flex schedule days/times to support operational needs - including working overnight full night shifts, or working an alternate day.
  • Travel 50% may be required, sometimes with short notice.

Location:

  • This role is onsite in Linden, NJ. Employee will also support other sites within our North America Home Delivery Operations network (travel requirement of 50%)

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate, lead, and execute all training functions within Middle Mile and HDO locations, including new hire orientation, job function training, new process & tech launches, and continuous development.
  • Engage, develop, and lead a team of high performing Training Ambassadors within the Warehouse Associate population; focus on improving safety, quality, and retention.
  • Lead various training sessions as needed, including but not limited to: New Hire Fundamentals, Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) training, Quality & Process (Current & New SOP) Training.
  • Provide professional development programming for warehouse associates and leaders. 
  • Record, track, and drive compliance on all training initiatives and report out on training metrics using Learning Management System.
  • Use operational expertise to flex to support site operations during peak volume periods, and when needed.  Supervise the functions and working of warehouse workers while adhering to the compliance of all legal and safety procedures.
  • Manage priorities, set goals, and partner strategically with stakeholders to align network training initiatives with the local site’s operational and training needs.
  • Work effectively with other managers within functional team and support new team members.
  • Support Global Supply Chain Training, Safety, and Operations by championing new training programs, processes, and initiatives; provide upward feedback and share observations with business owners to improve alignment, compliance, quality, and engagement.

What You’ll Need

  • 3+ years of experience in Training, Learning & Development and/or Organizational Leadership OR 4 year degree in relevant field, required
  • Experience in Operations or Supply Chain preferred
  • Raymond and/or Crown forklift/powered industrial vehicle certifications preferred.  Willingness to be trained on multiple vehicle types required.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to make decisions with little or no guidance based on policies or best practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication to effectively communicate with all stakeholder levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A seek-to-understand mindset and teamwork strategies that will allow you to connect with and influence diverse groups of people, including your training audience and stakeholder network.
