    SUMMARY

    The “Painter” classification is an all-encompassing paint department position. They will assist with all material staging, prepping, and part-hanging and painting duties. This position will help move all material through the paint line process physically and systematically. It is required to operate computers, RF scan guns, label printers, forklifts, lift tables, overhead cranes, power tools, checklists and other devices daily. The ability and willingness to adjust on the fly in a fast-paced production environment is crucial. All paint employees must have a safety-first mindset. Employees handle chemicals and large heavy material on a regular basis. 

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

    • The ability to operate industrial painting equipment. 
    • Support team to achieve KPI goals and quality requirements. 
    • They will be medically certified and fit tested to wear a respirator per OSHA standards (29 CFR 1910.134) 
    • Assist any other departments as needed. 
    • Continuous improvement mindset and support continuous improvement activities. 
    • The ability to use appropriate measuring instruments to the task.  
    • The ability to interface with other departments to accomplish tasks.  
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace using 5S principles. 
    • Communicate proactively and escalate any material shortage, quality, and process issues. 
    • Perform multiple tasks simultaneously. 
    • Complete Quality Checklists 
    • Participate in department Daily Startup Meetings 
    • Comply with and participate in maintaining standardized work instructions. 
    • Working ability to follow and apply all applicable PPE and safety requirements. 
    • Report workplace hazards associated with equipment being used, workplace injuries and/or illness and workplace near miss incidents immediately to direct supervisor.  
    • The ability to stand for up to 10 hours a day.  
    • The ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane.

    • All other duties assigned. 

     

    Required Skill / Qualifications: 

    • Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.  
    • Must pass pre-employment and drug screen.
