Job Description: Equine Account Manager

Position Overview: The Equine Account Manager is responsible for providing exceptional service for our clients and excellent support for the equine mortality producers. This role requires a deep understanding of the equine industry, particularly the thoroughbred sector, and involves managing client relationships, handling claims, and ensuring the delivery of tailored insurance solutions. The Equine Account Manager will work closely with producers to ensure that their clients' needs are met and that all aspects of account management are handled with precision and care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for equine mortality producers, managing all aspects of their accounts, including policy renewals, endorsements, and coverage inquiries.

  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their specific needs within the equine industry and providing tailored insurance solutions.

  • Claims Handling: Assist clients with the claims process, providing guidance and support. This includes being available for after-hours claims, ensuring that clients receive timely and accurate assistance.

  • Policy Administration: Oversee the administration of equine mortality policies, ensuring that all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with industry standards.

  • Risk Assessment: Work with underwriters to assess risk and develop appropriate coverage options for clients, utilizing knowledge of the thoroughbred industry to provide informed recommendations.

  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries promptly and professionally, and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.

  • Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about developments within the equine industry, particularly within the thoroughbred sector, and apply this knowledge to better serve clients and producers.

  • Organizational Skills: Maintain a highly organized approach to account management, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and that no details are overlooked.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with producers, underwriters, and other internal teams to deliver a seamless service experience for clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of the thoroughbred industry and equine mortality insurance.

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and tasks simultaneously.

  • Excellent customer service skills, with a commitment to going above and beyond for clients.

  • Ability to handle after-hours work, particularly in relation to claims.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proficiency in insurance-related software and tools.

  • A commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry trends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in equine mortality insurance or a related field.

  • Certification or training in equine studies or insurance.

  • Experience with claims handling in the equine industry.

Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
