Job Description: Strategic Access Manager - Access

Position Objective.

The overall purpose is to prepare and support the best possible conditions in Mexico´s public sector at both national and local level to allow fast track access and a quick uptake of our future launches.

The responsibility of the Strategic Access Manager is to develop and implement the strategic and tactical plan to secure full access. This includes providing key insights, communicating specific needs, keeping track of any important changes and updates for the stakeholder mapping, delivering value messages, securing value recognition, and removing hurdles, to optimize the ability to successfully introduce BMS medicines into the health care system. This will require extensive analytics, data-driven insights, and making strategic choices around prioritized policy and therapeutical areas to best contribute to the overall BMS performance both short- and long term. Extensive cross-functional collaboration including, but not limited to, governmental affairs, VAP, commercial, sales, medical, and HEOR.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build and leverage strong networks and relationships with individual and institutional key decision makers and key opinion leaders; Strategic customer centric roadmap, develop customer driven insights, identify and prioritize customer needs.
  • Understand access strategy, priorities, and resourcing. Articulate in a concise and clear manner, how the account works and how to create value for each hospital and stakeholder within.
  • Premarketing authorization- Disease awareness: Share disease prevalence, disease burden, demand , understand unmet need , engagement plan.
  • Post marketing authorization- Prepare the market for new products by making sure key costumers, key opinion leaders and institutional decision makers are aware of our value proposal.
  • Drive gathering of data-driven insights to guide strategic choices
  • Secure tenders and contracts for mature products, ensure fulfillment in every mapped account, administrative service, account management.
  • Share key value messages, government insights and competitive intelligence, LOE strategy insights on demand for mature brands

Key working relationships:

Internal

Market Access Team, KAM Government Team, Marketing and/or Business Units, Institutional Sales Force, Medical Area, Regulatory Affairs, Stratt & Opps support area.

External

KDM´s, members of the HTA, Hospital managers (finance, medical areas, supply, etc.), administrative areas.

Experience and education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in natural sciences, economics, pharmacology or equivalent
  • Solid experience in field positions in innovative hospital products ideally with launch experience
  • 3+ years experience in market access, external affairs, or value & pricing
  • Pharmaceutical / biopharma / healthcare sector experience mandatory
  • Very good understanding of the Mexican healthcare system on both national and regional level
  • A deep understanding of the Mexican payer and political landscape and the different stakeholders
