Role and responsibilities
We are in a transition implementing AI and automation in our operational expenditure (OPEX) and FTE forecast and planning. In this role you are one of the BI experts in the OPEX and FTE analytics team. You will be involved in the overall OPEX reporting to senior management and answering related ad hoc questions.  Next to that you are responsible for data access management of OPEX, headcount and time writing data sources. You will be working closely together with the team of Transformation & Digital Finance (TDF) on topics such as (Spotfire) report building and data management.

To build business knowledge, during your first year you will spend a considerable part of your time as a financial business analyst supporting Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (SS&P). In this role you use financial data (models) to create business insights to control costs and together with finance business controllers provide financial forecasts for SS&P. You understand how to gather and interpret data and communicate this in a transparent way to your stakeholders. Your goal is to provide relevant insights to finance business controllers and business counterparts via recurring reporting and ad hoc requests.

  • Create and improve OPEX/FTE related Tibco Spotfire reports, together with TDF or independent.
  • Answer ASML wide questions from senior management related to operational expenditures and headcount with one of our data sources.
  • Maintain and safeguard our data sources via the IAM tool and by assessing requests for data usage. Guide and grant access to worldwide ASML employees for our OPEX, headcount and time writing data.
  • During first period:
    • Translating generic OPEX data into business driven and transparent forecasts.
    • Drive the total OPEX forecasting and budgeting data for SS&P on which you also report.
    • Provide proactive support to the finance business controllers and finance leadership.
    • Identifying and implementing opportunities to optimize process and reporting through AI‑enabled tools, predictive modelling and process automation.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor or Master degree, preferably in Business Economics or AI.
  • More than 6 years relevant experiences – at least few years working as financial is necessary.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense is necessary.
  • Experience with AI‑related topics such as:
    • Predictive analytics or machine learning‑driven forecasting.
    • AI‑supported scenario modelling or anomaly detection.
    • Automation of financial processes using AI workflows, scripting or advanced tooling.
    • Working with AI copilots or other generative AI tools in a finance context.
  • Experience / knowledge of data modelling and mainstream BI, as well as experience in Financial Planning cycles and SAP is an advantage.
  • SAP knowledge, Mendix knowledge and excellent excel skills are also an advantage.

Other information

The job is part of the ASML finance organization, within the Business Insights & Control team. The financial business analyst and improvement lead reports to the Manager OPEX and FTE analytics within the BI&C department. He/she interacts with various departments in and outside of finance.
