This role will be part of GEICO’s technology leadership team. You will help drive GEICO’s technology vision, strategy, and roadmap in multiple domains and help our teams achieve Engineering and Operational excellence. You will architect, design, and develop teams to build a single pane of glass, revolutionizing the enterprise associate experience through a personalized, seamless, and innovative platform that empowers every individual to excel in their roles and drive organizational success. If you enjoy working in a rapidly changing environment and influencing the strategic direction of a large organization, this position will provide you with a challenging opportunity. This is a critical technical leadership role that requires strong engineering design experience, thought leadership and your abilities to build and scale engineering teams. You will partner and collaborate with C-level business leaders, product managers and other engineering leaders to develop platforms and products that operate at scale.
Overview: GEICO is on a multi-year journey to re-platform the Insurance industry, removing friction across Customers, Partners, Marketplace, Segments, Channels, and Experiences. The Enterprise Engineering team is at the heart of accomplishing this mission, building enterprise capabilities – from Mobility systems, Productivity Platforms, Collaboration tools, Billing & Payments Platforms to ERP systems for Enterprise Financials and Human Capital Management that enable the company to accelerate efficiency of internal operations.
We are looking for technically conversant leader with a decade plus of software engineering experience and brings deep knowledge of how to architect, design, and develop new software for GEICO’s enterprise associate experience solutions.
To be successful in this role, you will need to:

Develop and own relationships with your enterprise partners, engineering, marketing, and product management.

Grow the team over the coming year by advocating for additional resourcing and hiring into new open positions.

Present the vision and strategic recommendations with clarity and concision to stakeholders having varying degrees of data fluency.

Manage and prioritize requests from partners and set realistic expectations. Transparently communicate about priorities on a regular basis.

Enhance the team's abilities to report on performance, focus on impact, and provide transparency about critical workstreams.

A creative and innovative problem solver and storyteller with data, comfortable with helping partners think and solve difficult business challenges.

You thrive on partnership and can build the bridge between the requirements of the business and help the business reach their goals.

Have experience building applications that operate efficiently and at scale.

Have consistently coached different engineering roles (e.g. engineers, software developers, managers, etc.) of your teams and growing leadership (managers and senior individual contributors) on your teams throughout your career.
