Role Description

POSITION:  Director, Veterinary Specialty Team

DIVISION: Veterinary Professional Services, U.S. Petcare,

LOCATION/TRAVEL: Remote | 40-60%, with some weekend work/travel
 

Zoetis is seeking a visionary and collaborative leader to direct our Veterinary Specialty Team — a group of board-certified veterinary experts advancing customer education and scientific engagement. Reporting to the VP, Veterinary Professional Services, this role drives strategy, thought leadership, and integration across the business.

Primary Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team of boarded specialists dedicated to providing exceptional education and scientific support to veterinarians and the broader profession.
  • Guide career development through mentoring, IDPs, and real-time coaching.
  • Foster a team culture rooted in excellence, innovation, and Zoetis values

Strategic Education & Customer Engagement

  • Serve as a player-coach, leading select customer interactions and educational events.
  • Position the team as trusted scientific advisors and recognized industry leaders.
  • Oversee field scheduling and educational contributions to conferences, webinars, and customer meetings.
  • Provide education through conferences, roundtables, webinars, and field visits.
  • Actively engage with professional peers, academic, and industry networks by serving on committees, boards, and panels to represent Zoetis and influence veterinary medicine.
  • Analyze engagement insights to inform strategy and maximize impact.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Medical Affairs, Marketing, Research and Development, and Commercial teams to shape product strategy, medical content, and launch readiness.
  • Support cross-functional education and research initiatives that elevate Zoetis’ scientific reputation.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Leadership ability in managing teams, coaching talent, and delivering medical impact.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strategic thinker comfortable working in dynamic, cross-functional environments
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team-based environment, align with and influence internal and external stakeholders, and build / manage relationships at all levels of an organization.

  • Project / process management and attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent)
  • 5 years in clinical practice, academia, or the animal health industry.
  • Board certification or additional advanced degrees preferred.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $180,880-230,00. Our salary ranges are

determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the base pay target range

for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional

factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

 

This position is also eligible for long-term incentives.
