Job Responsibilities:

Summary:

Oversees the division’s design and material flow from raw goods to finished products with our conveyors and robotics AMRs systems.

Safety First – Obey the plant’s safety rules and procedures by always wearing PPE and immediately addressing all safety concerns.  Promotes an environment where zero injuries is the expected standard. As a member of the management team, the Materials Manager will receive notice of all incidents at Magna Structure LMV’s through the EHS Alert system.  Design and Develop automated solutions and material handling layouts using CAD software. Resolve technical AMR issues and validate completion of deployed AMR missions Ensure PFEP and VSM are current to allow for correct routing Analyze workflow, improve existing systems, and implement new technologies for efficient material flow. Manage projects from concept to installation, including scope definition, cost estimation, budgeting, and coordinating with internal teams. Provide technical expertise during installation, commissioning and troubleshooting existing equipment. Work with operations, production, logistics, maintenance and other engineering disciplines to achieve and implement new systems. Ensure all designs meet safety regulations and quality. Be aware of all Magna Structure LMV’s and Magna Health, Safety & Environmental policies. Know and understand Magna Structure LMV’s Quality policy. Follows and supports Magna Structure LMV’s and Magna’s operating principles, including:

Qualifications: (These qualifications represent the minimum requirements of the position. Employees will be required to possess the ability and aptitude to perform the duties proficiently)

    Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in material handling, conveyor design or system integration
  • Proficient in CAD, knowledge of material handling equipment (AMR’s).

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong ability to problem solve.
  • Advanced computer skills required.
  • Ability to communicate with others, both verbal and written.
  • Able to prepare, read, write and interpret reports, instructions, procedures and business correspondence.
  • Able to clearly and effectively respond to questions from management, employees, suppliers and customers.
  • Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Able to work flexible hours to be available in three shifts.
