Role purpose

Legal Analyst

Vicinity Centres 

Join a high performing Legal & Governance team and play a key hands-on role in maintaining core corporate records and strengthening operational excellence across at one of Australia’s leading retail property groups.  

This role is suited to a detail-oriented and pragmatic legal professional who can be responsible for important governance tasks and who has an interest in corporate compliance, commercial contracting and legal innovation.   

About the role 

As our Legal Analyst, you’ll contribute to support the compliant and efficient operation of Vicinity’s seamless operation of our Legal and Governance functions.  In this role you will utilise your grasp of commercial contracting principles, understanding of corporate records and structures and love of innovation to deliver impactful change to the way we operate.   

This role will collaborate with key stakeholders to modernise the way we work is empowered to modernise how we work. You’ll You will identify opportunities to automate, streamline and enhance processes using platforms like MS365, Power Automate, Checkbox and other AI enabled tools, helping the team operate smarter and more efficiently. 

Key responsibilities 

Procurement Contracting & Compliance 

  • Review procurement contracts and templates and support due diligence processes including sanctions and modern slavery checks. 
  • Maintain precedents and standardised drafting for key terms and fallback positions and playbooks. 
  • Support RFP/RFI processes and ensure compliance tasks are completed accurately and on time. 

Process Improvement & Automation 

  • Identify and implement process improvements across legal operations. 
  • Build and maintain automated and AI-enabled workflows in low-code/no-code platforms (Checkbox, MS365, Power Automate). 
  • Enhance external firm tracking and value add insights reporting. 

Corporate Secretariat Administration 

  • Own and maintain trust deeds, unit registers, member registers and group structure charts. 
  • Verify ASIC company statements and manage annual returns. 
  • Conduct one Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration 
  • Work with internal teams and external legal providers to deliver efficient, accurate service. 
  • Communicate process changes and compliance requirements across key stakeholders. 
  • What you’ll bring 
  • Legal qualifications or experience in legal, paralegal, governance or related roles.  The ability to maintain a practicing certificate will be supported and highly regarded.  
  • Experience managing business-critical documents and interpreting legal materials (contracts, trust deeds, ASIC records). 
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines. 
  • Confidence using (or willingness to learn) platforms like MS365, document management systems and automation tools. 
  • High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions focused mindset. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with discretion when handling sensitive information. 
  • Curiosity and eagerness to contribute to continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.
