Job Description:

Associate Industrial Designer 

Milwaukee Tool’s Industrial Design team is continuing to grow and is looking for a dynamic Industrial Designer to join its in-house design team. Our product line is continually expanding; come join a growing creative team that is building a portfolio of advanced products.

What You’ll Be Doing -

As an Associate Industrial Designer, you will develop high-performance products. You will engage deeply with user needs, exploring forms and functions to enhance the interaction between users and tools.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily responsibilities -

  • Collaborate with designers and cross-functional teams (engineering, marketing, manufacturing) to support the development of new product concepts.

  • Create sketches, 3D models, prototypes, and renderings to visualize ideas.

  • Participate in user research, competitive analysis, and trend forecasting to inform design direction.

  • Support the refinement of designs based on feedback, testing, and engineering requirements.

  • Assist with documentation for production, including CAD drawings, CMF specifications, and technical handoffs.

  • Maintain organized design files and contribute to design libraries and material resources.

QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial design or equivalent from an accredited university.

  • Strong conceptual thinking, sketching, and ideation skills.

  • A portfolio that demonstrates your start to finish process, creativity, and technical skills (please provide a link to your website or sample portfolio with your application).

  • Experience with 3D design software such as Blender, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Rhino is a strong advantage, though not a strict requirement.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with rendering tools like KeyShot or Blender is highly valued.

  • Basic understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and ergonomics.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • A team player with curiosity, initiative, and a desire to grow in a fast-paced environment.

  • Open to domestic and international travel as needed.
