Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is currently seeking a Project Manager Level 2 or 3 to support our growing business in our Northridge location. This position is a full-time onsite role.

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is currently seeking a Project Management professional to provide support to our Advanced Weapons (AW) business in Northridge, CA. This position supports program execution, reporting directly into the program office. Responsible for ensuring alignment and integration across all elements of the organization to include Engineering, Contracts, Finance, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Planning, Property Management, Support Equipment and Program Management. The Project Management professional will support cross-functional teams focused on growing the business while meeting budget and schedule tracking contractual requirements. This position is a project manager role within the AARGM / AARGM-ER Sustainment Program Office.

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

The Project Manager responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage activities of assigned programs/projects.
  • Act as the primary contact for both internal and external stakeholders/customers.
  • Maintain and review status of project activities to ensure cost, schedule, and technical commitments are being met.
  • Be responsible for the compliance to all financial tracking processes such as formal and informal EVMS systems.
  • Coordinate customer meetings (conference room, visitor requests, agenda planning, action items, meeting minutes, etc).
  • Prepare, submit and track letters to customer.
  • Support proposal development by gathering and organizing data and preparing cost estimates and rationale.
  • Assess project/technical issues and develop corrective actions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Lead status review sessions with internal management and customer to discuss status of project cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Develop and maintain schedules, risk registers, lessons learned, status reports and other project documentation to document project execution and performance.
  • Monitors status of procurement and hardware deliverables for assigned projects.

Basic Qualifications for Project Manager Level 2:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience OR 7 years of experience in project management
  • Must be able to acquire a DoD Secret Clearance
  • Demonstrated experience with SharePoint Development
  • Proficient in the Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Basic Qualifications for Project Manager Level 2:

  • Bachelors degree with 6 years’ experience or Masters with 4 years’ experience.
  • Prior experience in Program/Project Management.
  • Working knowledge of Earned Value Management.
  • Prior experience working with cross-functional organizations (Program Office, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Business Management, Field Operations, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Project.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or Higher
  • Familiarity with USG program execution process

Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00Salary Range 2: $88,700.00 - $133,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
