Your roles and responsibilities

As GDS Process Lead within Central Finance, you will play a pivotal role in our Finance Transformation journey. Based in Bangalore, you’ll drive accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across global accounting operations—ensuring prompt reporting, consolidation, and month‑end close excellence. You’ll lead critical processes in General Accounting, oversee reconciliations and journal entries, and provide clearance for monthly financial data uploads. This role demands strong collaboration with cross‑functional teams, consultants, and business stakeholders to resolve issues swiftly and keep seamless financial integrity.

Reporting to the Delivery Lead R2R, you’ll be at the heart of transformation—simplifying processes, strengthening controls, and enabling automation—while shaping the future of global shared services.

The work model for the role is onsite and based in Bangalore.

This role is a key contributor to the Record-to-Report (R2R) function within Financial Accounting & Operations (FAO), based in Bangalore. You will partner closely with multiple FAO towers and senior finance stakeholders, ensuring seamless collaboration and impactful delivery across the global finance landscape.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Lead Global Delivery Operations: Oversee financial statement preparation, regulatory filings, and ensure month-end trial balance accuracy without manual adjustments.
• Drive Team Excellence: Manage a diverse GDS team of Leads, SMEs, consultants, and external partners, fostering collaboration across P2P, O2C, R2R, P2D, and MDG streams.
• Champion Business Continuity: Handle escalations from business units, provide rapid resolutions, and support onboarding of new countries under Hypercare.
• Enable Transparency & Control: Maintain country dashboards, update knowledge books, and ensure compliance through internal control documentation, audits, and testing.
• Accelerate Process Innovation: Identify opportunities for automation (RPA) to eliminate recurring errors and coordinate with implementation consultants for timely fixes.
• Build Capability & Trust: Train sub-process teams on error resolution, manage external audits, and provide clearance to R2R-HFM teams with robust supporting documentation.

Qualifications for the role

• Seasoned Finance Leader: 15+ years of proven experience in global finance shared services, with a strong record in process and system transformation across RTR, PTP, and OTC.
• ERP & SAP Expertise: Highly adept in multiple ERP systems, finance IT architecture, and SAP FI/CO modules; working knowledge of S/4HANA preferred.
• Transformation & Innovation Mindset: Passionate about driving continuous improvements, automation, and simplification of processes to deliver efficiency at scale.
• Strategic People Manager: Demonstrated success in leading large teams (25+), building capability, and engaging independently with senior finance stakeholders.
• Strong Technical & Communication Skills: Degree in Finance (CA/MBA preferred), impressive knowledge of accounting/reporting, advanced MS Excel & PowerPoint skills, and the ability to influence and provide solutions across global shared services.
