Job Summary
The Director will be responsible to lead contracting operation activities for Biosimilars and Specialty products. The primary responsibilities for this role include leading a diverse team on rebate/discount process management and contract operations to ensure successful outcomes against the commercial strategies. In addition, this role will lead and support departmental operations. This role will be key in decisions regarding daily business functions and ad-hoc projects.
Responsible for optimizing payer, wholesaler, provider, specialty pharmacy, GPO, and membership contract operations while minimizing risk to Fresenius Kabi. Brings awareness to contract risks and suggests mitigating solutions. This role will work with key stakeholders to direct cross-functional teams and manage priorities that deliver optimal commercial value.
This position is heavily reliant on interacting with multiple internal Fresenius Kabi US and Global business functions. The Director must practice proactive management, drive collaboration, and be a positive team leader. The individual must be able to successfully facilitate and complete contracting projects in a matrix environment to facilitate business decisions that generate the greatest revenue and profit return.
Salary Range: $180,000 - $210,000 per year
Position is eligible to participate in a bonus plan with a target of 16% of the base salary. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Responsibilities
- This individual will be responsible for a contracting operations team, contract set up, and policies that support growth initiative in Biosimilars and Specialty products.
- Lead and assist National Account and field sales negotiate contracts with a variety of Fresenius Kabi customers with operational support.
- Further develop a brand-like drug market contract operations process for hospital & clinic GPOs and payer rebates.
- Oversee Managed Care invoice and accurate rebate payment management.
- Develop 340B investigation process for payer contracts and potential double dipping in Medicaid.
- Supervise the development of EDI and accuracy of membership onboarding for new biopharma customers.
- Manage Model N setup for new contracts across business channels.
- Manage contract invoices and accurate payment analysis.
- Develop Agiloft, contract analytics platforms, contract membership, and Model N solutions.
- Apply strategic business insights and competitive market intelligence to identify new opportunities.
- Assist on new contract initiative and operation set up for key Payor, GPO, IDN and Provider agreements.
- Directly interface with customers on contract operations and disputes.
- Identity process improvement opportunities and develop tools to assist in the contract deliverables.
- Contribute to the preparation of ad-hoc presentations, process solutions, and assess the impact of contracts.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
Minimum 10+ years related work experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including 5 years with financial / marketing / contract / market access knowledge.
Minimum of 5 years of direct people management experience with demonstrated ability to develop and lead high-performing teams.
In-depth knowledge of payer medical and pharmacy rebate claims invoice payment process.
Deep understanding many players in the US supply chain.
Strong desire to self-learn in a high-volume department.
Brand/Biosimilars/Biologic experience highly preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to develop content vs delegate.
Demonstrated business acumen skillset to weigh multiple factors when making decisions.
Superior interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
Effectively manage internal projects and external customer deadlines.
Microsoft Excel at the advanced level experience required, including superior analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to make recommendations based on analysis.
Must have knowledge and comfort level of operating systems; for instance, but limited to, experience with SAP, BEX, Qlik, Veeva, Spring CM, and Model N preferred.
Able to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects with demonstrated time management skills.
