What you'll do...

Position: Manager, Yield Analytics

Job Location:  850 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066

Duties: Advance advertising yield management capabilities by leveraging accurate and granular forecasts. Guide pricing, packaging, sales strategy, and operational planning through data-driven insights to optimize Wal-Mart’s advertising yield. Develop and implement state-of-the-art time series forecasting models to provide visibility of future available inventory. Quantify inventory risks through sophisticated algorithms to enable swift decision-making. Employ cutting-edge machine learning algorithms and statistical models on large, rich, and unique Wal-Mart datasets. Engineer highly scalable data science solutions including building analytical tools, performing data processing, and managing end-to-end data modeling pipeline. Work cross-functionally with sales, operations, product, product marketing, and engineering teams to identify and capitalize on optimization opportunities. Provide actionable insights and foster relationships to drive the implementation of data solutions. Create visually compelling graphical representations of data and model outcomes. Build interactive dashboards to showcase the work internally and externally. This position does not supervise employees.

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field; OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field and 2 years of experience in an analytics or related field.

Skills required: Experience with the following uncertainty quantification and statistical inference techniques: Bayesian modeling and inference, sampling and variational inference, and Bayesian hierarchical models. Experience with the following machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques: modeling, regression, neural networks, and decision trees. Experience with the following time series forecast algorithms and techniques: linear regression, prophet time series model, and stacked modeling. Experience with the following machine learning and data processing frameworks: Scikit-learn, Pandas, and NumPy. Experience coding in the following object-oriented language and statistical programming languages: Python and R. Experience with Database programming using SQL, stored procedures, and database functions. Experience with Data Visualizations and Exploratory Data Analysis using Python and R. Experience with the following statistical inference methodologies: hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and p-value calculation. Experience building software development version control system using Git. Employer will accept any amount of graduate coursework, graduate research experience or professional experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $117,000/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.   Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
